In order to have a strong national defense, we must attain energy independence and make certain that our military equipment is not dependent on another country. We must maintain a strong military and not weaken it with social experiments detrimental to its function.

As your senator, I will work to build strong national defenses without wasting the lives of Americans and their resources in undeclared wars. We must secure our borders with sufficient resources to prevent illegal entry and to catch human traffickers and terrorists. I recognize the grave threat posed by human traffickers who exploit the most vulnerable among us. Human trafficking is a heinous crime that preys upon the innocence of individuals, tearing families apart and causing immeasurable harm.

I will staunchly attack human trafficking by advocating for tougher penalties, providing support for law enforcement agencies, and implementing comprehensive measures to combat this modern-day slavery.
